I have lived in Las Vegas since 1980. I was lucky enough to find a good doctor early on, and stayed with him for about 5 years, until he retired. After that, it was hit and miss for a number of years. Luckily, I was young and healthy, so an annual visit to a doctor was all I needed. As Vegas grew, finding a good doctor became more difficult. Too many people, not enough doctors to go around. I remember sitting in one doctor's crowded waiting room for more than an hour past my appointment time. And when I asked for the flu shot, the main reason I was there, she said she did not have any. A member of her staff had forgotten to put them in the fridge, and all had to be tossed out. Luckily a few years ago, my neighbors told me about Dr. Choi. I was unfamiliar with the concept of concierge medicine, but it makes so much sense. There is no crowded waiting room full of sick people, and my time with the doctor is not rushed. He sees me on a regular basis throughout the year. Two years ago, I developed a serious condition related to long term use of Fosomax. Although it was a dental issue, Dr. Choi is the one I immediately turned to for help. He prescribed a treatment that has stabilized my condition to this day. We are so lucky to have Dr. Choi in Las Vegas.

This is the best money I’ve ever spent! If anyone has been fed-up with what the medical sector has become, this concept of concierge medicine is the answer. A traditional medical practice has to carry a patient roster of 2000+ patients in order to stay afloat, largely because the insurance companies pay drastically reduced rates to these practices for their services. The result is, waiting weeks for appointments, long waits in the waiting room, very little time with the doctor often resulting in rushed care, or ultimately….a very “basic” or “generic” level of care, so they can get you out the door and get on to the next dozen patients. This practice takes a radically different approach. Yes, you pay for it, but the monthly fee allows the practice to be able to limit their patient load to no more than 400 patients per Doctor, so they always have plenty of time for you. But the result is NOT just reducing wait-times, etc….the result is an ENTIRELY different level of care. Extensive testing, (Body composition scans, arterial and heart scans, hormonal testing and balancing, etc…) FAR more in depth than the basic labs you are used to, digging much deeper into what YOUR body is up to, and coming up with plans to work on even the smallest things, to improve your health, even if you are already pretty healthy, as we can all get healthier, right? Finally, a refreshing focus on preventative care, with frequent follow-up appointments to talk about your goals, and your progress in meeting them. I am 55, and I am healthier now than I’ve been in a decade.
